Prenatal sessions are designed to nourish expectant mothers at all stages during their pregnancy to learn to use yoga’s mind/body awareness to connect with their own innate wisdom, changing body and growing baby. Additionally, prenatal yoga can assist in strengthening the uterus and pelvic muscles, improving circulation, aiding digestion, and alleviating many of the common discomforts that can accompany pregnancy, such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.
Postnatal yoga sessions are designed, specifically with new mothers in mind, knowing they are coming to their mats during potentially one of the most delicate, sensitive, and challenging times of their life. Much like prenatal yoga, it is a time to have a customized and forgiving practice -- forgive the fact that everything feels different, forgive that your child will most likely interrupt your practice, and forgive that it might take weeks or even months to find the time and energy to make it happen.
